Inauguration of Seven Projects in Badakhshan

Badakhshan, May 13, 2019 - Seven public utility projects worth AFN 12,940,870 with financial fund by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution officially inaugurated in Ghulawak, Muzafari, Sarpishani, Baharistan, Dar-e-Qaq and Nawabad Dar-e-Qaq villages in Teshkan district of Badakhshan province.

Upon completion of these projects, it is expected that around 8,508 people (1,191 families (will access to basic human needs in irrigation, water supply and hygiene and health education sectors. It will also help to irrigate about 1,500 Jirabs (equivalent to 300 hectare) agricultural land in the mentioned villages.

The Citizens’ Charter is one of the core national priority programs of the Government of Afghanistan to reduce poverty and contribute to socio-economic growth. CCNPP ensures social welfare and sustainable development in both rural and urban communities across the country

CCNPP is a contract between the government and its citizens over a basic set of Minimum Service Standards (MSS) that will be provided by the Government to all communities in the country. The CCNPP MSS are shared across line ministries in an excellent new initiative of creating synergies and cross-collaboration in service delivery across sectors.
