Completion of 272 development projects with a total budget of AFN. one billion in Herat City

The Governor of Herat, local officials, members of the community development councils (CDCs) of Herat city took part and celebrated completion of a total 272 development projects. This event was organized in Negaristan Hall of the Herat Governor Office. It is important to mention that the Governor of Herat and the CDCs members participated and talked about the successful completion of 272 projects in a nation-wide grand event, led by the Presidential Office. The President of Afghanistan Dr. Ashrafi Ghani also participated in this meeting and the 272 project were also in the completed package of 1000 projects, which were simultaneously announced by the President Office in the four regional cities of Afghanistan namely Herat, Mazar, Nangarhar and Kandahar.
In Herat city, these projects include creation and development of electricity and water network, concreting roads and drainages and economic livelihood projects for women were implemented in district nine to district fifteen of Herat city with a total cost of AFN one billion funded by CCNPP. With completion of these development projects, Herat residents will have access to safe drinking water, electricity lighting and paved and standard roads.
By implementing these projects, the CCNPP has created one million working days for skilled and unskilled workers, and more than six hundred and eighty thousand residents of different parts of Herat city have directly benefited from these projects.
CCAP is initiative of government of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan which aims to reduce poverty and enhance living standards by improving the delivery of core infrastructure and social services to participating communities through strengthened Community Development Councils (CDCs).
