130 Families Provided with Energy in Kandahar
A solar energy network capable of generating 15.29KW power has been constructed in Spinboldak district of Kandahar province.
The solar energy project worth AFN 4,700,000 funded by the Citizens’ Charter National Priority Program of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development (MRRD/CCNPP) including 10% community contribution (financial, labor or in-kind) enabled 130 families to gain access to electricity in Eshaqzai Akhakhil village.
This solar energy network is consisted of 88 solar panels 270 watt each, 48 batteries 200 ampere each and grid extension over an area of 3,000 meters across the community.
Some 637 labor days have been created for both skilled and unskilled laborers during the implementation of the solar project as employment generation at community level.
It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Citizens’ Charter-funded development projects in different sectors are currently underway, while some of them have already been completed in various communities of Kandahar province.
